Mentor for Ex-Offenders

The Footprints Project - South Somerset

Name: Mentor for Ex-Offenders
Organisation: The Footprints Project - South Somerset
Location: Footprints House, 3 North Square, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1HY
Type: Part Time

Description

Footprints provides mentors to work with ex-offenders and assist them on their release from prison. This can be collecting them from the prison gate, helping them settle into accommodation, obtaining benefits, employment and encouraging them to change their lifestyle and integrate in the community. Sometimes there is an opportunity to go into the prison to meet the offender prior to release.
Mentoring is rewarding work and helps to break the revolving door cycle. We are looking for volunteers to mentor ex-offenders as they leave prisons and return to Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth, Dorchester or Yeovil areas.
