Location: C/o Martock Youth Centre, Chuch Street, Martock, Somerset, TA12 6JL

Description

Our volunteers have made Martock Job Club the success it is. In 2013 we supported 72 job seekers back into employment or volunteering and we have recently won an award for outstanding contribution to the wellbeing of Martock and we contuinue to be a much needed group within our community.
The volunteers meet people often at low points in their lives, and by listening, supporting and practical assistance with searching for employment, volunteering or training opporutnities we are able to help job seekers take steps forward.
No one job club is the same, we never know who will come through the door and therefore we are always ready with a cup of tea, kitkat and a listening ear.
We offer assistance with computers and we have 3 volunteers who run 1-1 courses. We assist job seekers to write CVs, fill in application forms, search for jobs and ring potential employers. We sign post to training providers and assist with apprenticeships and traineeships.
With the changes to the benefit systems we are also happy to help people to apply online for Job Seekers allowance, housing benefits etc.
Ideally we would like volunteers for 1 session of 4 hours a week. However we can be flexible.
