Description

The role of the Visitor Services volunteer is to welcome the visitors when they arrive to the museum, give information about the collection and any events that are on that day and to help them fulfil their expectations of their visit. This volunteer role provides the first point of contact with our visitors and is a great value to the museum.
The main duties are: 1. To work with a team of volunteers in welcoming visitors to Haynes International Motor Museum as first point of contact on arrival 2. To explain the various ‘Museum in Motion’ talks and activities for the day to include Seasonal Trails, Top Trumps, Visitor Maps etc. 3. To deliver a brief introduction for the groups and pass over to Tour Guides 4. To answer questions on the museum and to be able to give local directions to places of interest, accommodation and petrol stations/shops

Requirements

Morning or afternoon – 9.30am – 1.30pm or 1.30pm – 5.30pm throughout a 7 day week or all day 9.30am – 5.30pm.
We provide training including Health & Safety procedures and a back ground history on the Haynes International Motor Museum and a uniform is provided
Volunteers receive a season ticket after a specified number of hours that entitles them to a discount in the shop and Café 750. As a volunteer you are also included to access to some of our special events and social occasions for volunteers and staff throughout the year
