Hearing Voices Support Group Volunteer Facilitator - Taunton

Mind In Somerset

Name: Hearing Voices Support Group Volunteer Facilitator - Taunton
Organisation: Mind In Somerset
Location: Taunton

Volunteering with the Somerset Hearing Voices groups is an incredibly rewarding experience that will enable you to make a difference to the lives of people who experience voices and visions, as well as developing your skills.

The group provides a source of support for those attending, who are maybe struggling to cope with the experience of hearing voices or seeing visions. The group's main aim is to minimise the social isolation people who hear voices experience by bringing people with these experiences together in order to inspire and support each other.
In the role of group facilitator, we would expect you to be a key member of the team and therefore available to run the group regularly, taking leave on a pre-arranged basis.

· Facilitate and co-facilitate The Hearing Voices group through facilitating supportive conversation.

· Willingness to run the group alone and work on your own initiative on occasion.

· Setting up / clearing up of venue and any additional activities throughout the session including the preparation of food and refreshments, general tidying, cleaning and washing up.

· Meeting and inducting new members to the group.

· Willingness to partake in administration tasks, such as light reporting, emailing and document writing as well as emotional support work.

· Working together as a team to support all the activities planned for the session.
